Green energy.

The Nordic electricity system is one of the world’s most secure, efficient, affordable and renewable – including wind, hydro, biomass, solar, geothermal, wave and tidal power. DigiPlex data centers run on 100% certified renewable hydro energy.

The abundance of renewable energy drives consistently low energy prices. Over the last decade, electricity prices in the region have been the lowest in Europe, ranging between EUR 0.04–0.08 per kWh.

PUE.

By using our innovative and sustainable cooling technique, the Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) – the ratio between total energy and net server energy – can be significantly reduced. By moving from an average data center with a PUE of 1.67 to an energy efficient one with a PUE of 1.2, you cut as much as a quarter of your power consumption – and your power bill!

Energy monitoring.

Our data centers deploy facility-wide energy measuring devices for monitoring both customer IT and in-house infrastructure power consumption, so that we can continuously compute and monitor PUE performance.

Keep it cool.

Cooling systems can be responsible for a significant proportion of a data center’s energy consumption. Using energy efficient cooling systems not only saves money but improves sustainability and lowers your carbon footprint.

The Nordic region has a cold but stable climate. With average high daytime temperatures below 5°C across the region for six months of the year, there are considerable opportunities for natural cooling.

Cold climate cooling.

Our air-to-air cooling and concert control systems work together to bring energy usage to a minimum. The air-to-air evaporative cooling technology maximizes the effect of the cool air outside our facilities. Wetting the heat exchangers with harvested rainwater provides an additional evaporative cooling effect on warmer days.

These technologies deliver a massive 70% saving in energy consumed by cooling systems compared to a typical data center.

Cold/hot aisle containment.

Air flow management within the data hall is essential for energy efficient data hall cooling. Cold/hot aisle containment measures ensure a more cost effective and efficient way to cool the servers. Heat escapes through a dedicated system whilst cold air is channeled specifically where it needs to be. In this way, only the server racks are kept cool – not the whole data center.

Energy-efficient lighting systems.

We use motion-activated controls and/or LEDs to reduce energy consumption and ambient heat from operating lights.
