DigiPlex awarded for achievement beyond call of duty.

DigiPlex wins prestigious “Above and Beyond Award” at the annual DataCloud Europe Awards 2017.

The award recognises a team who has gone that bit further for their customers. A team who has risen to a challenge and demonstrated dedication, initiative and leadership beyond the call of duty. DigiPlex won the award for their outstanding work in upgrading the data centre at Ulven in Oslo, Norway.

“We are committed to provide market leading innovative and sustainable data centre solutions, which means that we have to go a bit further for our customers. We are incredibly honoured to win this award for our work at Ulven. I am delighted that we now deliver a greener, more resilient and energy efficient data centre,” says Gisle M. Eckhoff, CEO of DigiPlex.

DigiPlex facility at Ulven in Oslo has been operating 17 years without a second of downtime. Making upgrades to a live data centre without compromising the zero down-time is a complex task. In early 2016 a team of experts from DigiPlex set out to make fundamental improvements to the facility’s energy efficiency and resilience. The improvements involved creating state-of-the-art Computer room air conditioning (CRAC) by rebuilding the units in-situ as well as modifying the chilled water pumps. The result is a future-proof data centre, which will ensure customers benefit from reduced operating costs. The work is expected to deliver an annual energy reduction of over 5,000,000 kWhr/year.

“The jury was impressed by the outstanding work DigiPlex has performed at the facility in Oslo. The upgrade provides a far better data centre, which benefits their customers. Preforming such an extensive upgrade on a live data centre and maintaining zero down-time is a remarkable achievement,” says Philip Low, Managing Director of BroadGroup.

This award is the latest in a string of recent recognitions for DigiPlex. In May, DigiPlex won the “Outstanding Big Data Management Solution Award” at the annual Big Data and IoT Excellence Awards in London, hosted by Computing Magazine. In April, the company was included among the “20 Most Promising Data Center Solution Providers 2017” by CIOReview and in December DigiPlex won the “Critical Enviroment Future Thinking Award” at the annual EMEA DCD Awards.
