Public management of data centres in Norway is unclear
The public sector in Norway has in excess of 200+ datacenters, but no one knows exactly how many, where they are located, how much energy they are using or if they are secure. Both the environment and taxpayers would benefit from a clean-up of this situation. In parallel with establishing a public sector cloud procurement scheme, it is necessary to gain control over the heavy cloud already covering the public sector in Norway. Norway needs an overall digitization plan. It will benefit the environment, increase security and reduce costs.
