DigiPlex, the Nordic leader for innovative and sustainable data centres, has won the “Outstanding Big Data Management Solution Award” at the annual Big Data and IoT Excellence Awards in London, hosted by Computing Magazine. The Big Data & IoT Excellence Awards celebrate the achievements of the IT industry's most remarkable companies, solutions, products and personalities working with big data and the internet of things.
DigiPlex entered the awards as a market-leading innovator, articulating both the sophistication of its data centre solutions and its commitment to clean energy and sustainability. Leveraging both the incredible geographic and political advantages of the Nordic region, DigiPlex was recognised as an example of a new generation of data centre providers, which maximise savings, reduce carbon-footprint and offer a customisable, scalable service. The awards were judged by a panel of Computing’s editors and prestigious experts from a range of businesses, including CERN, Northumbria University and the European Space Agency.
“It was clear to the judging panel that DigiPlex is committed to taking a position of leadership in its industry. DigiPlex data centres combine the provision of a valuable business solution with a great sense of social responsibility. DigiPlex is a great example of the extent to which established solutions are being innovated upon,” says Stuart Sumner, Editorial Director, Computing.
“We are incredibly honoured to be the first data centre provider to be recognised by these awards for our innovative and sustainable data centre solutions. We see the environmental footprint of data centres become an increasingly important issue for companies in the coming years, even while demand continues to accelerate. We are delighted our efforts to provide the market with a sophisticated and future-fit solution recognised among such prestigious companies,” says Gisle M. Eckhoff, CEO at DigiPlex.
